dc.description.abstractLunar dust consists of fine particles that are very abrasive and adhesive in nature. Lunar dust has proven to be very disruptive to space instrumentation and hazardous to human health. As part of the NASA-NIA 2021 BIG Idea Challenge, our project seeks to develop a solution to address the lunar dust problem. Our proposed solution involves an electrodynamic dust shield (EDS) which uses a high voltage AC signal to generate a traveling wave which is capable of repulsing small lunar dust particles.
