Metastatic lymph nodes of the head and neck are often associated with locoregional spread of mucosal squamous carcinoma, but in rare instances visceral malignancies may bypass Virchow’s node. The possibility of distant metastasis should be considered.Metastatic lymph nodes of the head and neck are often associated with locoregional spread of mucosal squamous carcinoma, but in rare instances visceral malignancies may bypass Virchow’s node.
