Worldwide, breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. African women have a high mortality rate from breast cancer because of poor health infrastructure, incomplete vital registries, delayed health-seeking behavior, and low population awareness. and meta-analyses on breast cancers in Africa have used incidence and mortality rates as their frequency measures. Since most breast cancers are considered chronic diseases, it is particularly important to measure its prevalence in African populations. Our meta-analysis aims to exam the prevalence of breast cancer as a whole, the prevalence of the TNBC subtype among breast cancer patients, and the practice of the various screening modalities among women across Africa.en_US
