This is based on a panel study conducted in Dearborn Michigan starting in 1974 and continuing for three years. The key question is whether the New Deal coalition is being fragmented by cultural issues such as race, crime, drugs, personal and sexual behavior. The analysis found strong evidence that this was true. Also the data revealed that personal candidate evaluation was emerging as a core issue.en_US
