Student organizations interface primarily with the Center for Campus Involvement (CCI) and Student Organization Accounts Service (SOAS), which coordinates financial management of student organization funds. SOAS does not condone the use of Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, a bank account, and other similar services for student organizations to collect funds. Despite this, a plethora of student organizations use these services, as the student population is unlikely to carry cash, checks, or money orders that can be deposited into SOAS accounts. This capstone project involves the creation of an internal University mobile application for students to transfer money to student organizations. Market research was conducted with a Qualtrics survey distributed throughout the campus to quantify the need for this application. Figma was utilized to confirm the UI/UX framework of the mobile application. App development is facilitated through Android Studio. The intent is for the combination of these approaches to be presented to CCI and SOAS to illustrate the benefit of further app development and integration with the existing SOAS Finance Dashboard, to enable easier formal collection of funds for student organizations.
