dc.descriptionreference grammar of Tebul Ure, Dogon family, east central Mali. Includes transcriptions and translations of texts as an appendix. Tebul Ure is a little known Dogon language spoken until recently in a cluster of villages on the eastern cliffs of the Dogon plateau overlooking the village clusters of Bamba (mostly Jamsay speaking) and Yanda in the sandy plains. Some Tebul people have recently moved down to the plains, where most of their fields are. The language belongs to the "western" Dogon subgroup, in spite of its current geographical location. It is probably most closely related to Yanda Dom and Najamba. However, the influence of Jamsay (eastern Dogon) is significant.
