dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this teacher research study was to draw meaning from the successes and challenges of five underrepresented students in a middle school orchestra program. Data included three focus groups, two individual interviews, and student and researcher journals. Findings are presented in the areas of a teacher’s experience with culturally responsive teaching in the middle school orchestra classroom, students’ successes and challenges in middle school orchestra, and students’ experiences with culturally responsive teaching.en_US
