Can fruit flies teach us something about the way our senses impact our own aging process? Dr. Christi Gendron believes so, and she uses humor to explain how recent research with Drosophila melanogaster, also known as the common fruit fly, is changing our understanding of the ways in which sensory systems impact the aging process. The processes identified are similar to those found in our own bodies and are the basis for developing therapies that promote healthy aging in humans.
