Lowinson, MD, is Professor Emerita in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Studies, and Associate Professor Emerita in the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She is a Fellow of The New York Academy of Medicine and editor of Substance Abuse: A Comprehensive Textbook. Dr. Lowinson was the driving force behind Einstein College of Medicine’s Department of Substance Abuse’s (DoSA) founding and a pioneer in substance abuse treatment.
