How to Kill a Chicken dissects the motivations behind success and perfection, and at what point we become the villain of someone else's story. It follows a young Asian American man, Daniel Ma, as he ingratiates himself in a computer science lab specializing in surveillance technology while he keeps a secret about his father from the rest of his family. It explores how expectations become crippling obligations, and how a man can break away from generational and societal trauma to choose for himself instead of along expectations. I have completed an 85,000-word draft. Thesis is chapters 10-end of chapter 24, although entire manuscript is attached. Thank you.
