dc.description.abstract | Heller Industries has enlisted our team to improve their current lubrication system for a chain conveyor in a reflow oven's vacuum chamber. The current system involves maintenance personnel reaching in an approximately 2 inch slot to paint lubricant onto a small portion of the chain that is exposed, then moving the chain forward to expose a new section, and repeating until the entire chain is coated. Our solution is an open-top cup reservoir that permanently sits within the vacuum chamber, and requires maintenance personnel to deposit lubricant into the cup using a pipette with a pre-determined lubricant amount. | |
