Racing Formula SAE is an engineering project team at the University of Michigan that designs, builds, and races an electric formula-style race car at competitions around the world. During previous development cycles, MRacing has evaluated the aero- and thermodynamic properties of their radiators with limited data and calculations. Now, as they improve upon their vehicle's cooling system, they require a Wind Tunnel Test Bench that is compact, adjustable, low-cost, and manufacturable entirely with resources available within the University to assess trade-offs of key heat exchanger parameters in relation to whole-vehicle performance.
