Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive abdominal surgery that reduces scar size and infection risk compared to traditional surgeries. Laparoscopic simulators are a key part of training for OB/GYN doctors performing surgery worldwide. Current market simulators fail to meet the performance requirements at a price that resource constrained health facilities can afford. This lack of proper training tools hampers the ability to effectively teach and improve laparoscopic skills among medical professionals and students. Our team is making a low cost laparoscopic training simulator that provides tactical and visual feedback, and trains the skills needed for introductory OB/GYN laparoscopic procedures.
