In a previous study, experimental results for the dynamics of a radially rotating beam with impact were found to be in excellent agreement with simulation results using the momentum balance method (for impact modeling). In this paper spring-dashpot models for impact modeling are compared to experiment for a radially rotating flexible beam. Excellent agreement is found between the simulation results using spring-dashpot models and the experiments. A sensitivity study is employed to investigate the issue of accurately determining the model parameters.en_US
