dc.description.abstractThe type material of Diichnia Read, supplemented by several additional specimens, has been restudied and a lectotype designated. Special attention has been paid to the nature of the primary vascular system, the pattern of leaf-trace divergence, branching of the leaf traces to form the petiolar vascular supply, and the zone of parenchyma just outside the secondary phloem. Generic and species diagnoses are emended and a new species, D. readii, is established.en_US
