Infrared spectra have been obtained of lithium hexamethyl- and hexaethylhydrodiborates and deuterodiborates in diglyme solution at temperatures near 0[deg]C. Assignments are proposed and arguments are presented in support of the presence of linear hydrogen bridges in these compounds. The spectral data are compared with those of other hydrogen-bonded compounds having symmetrical H bonds.en_US
