The level scheme of 24Na up to about 7 MeV has been studied with the 23Na(d, p)24Na reaction. Several new levels have been observed. A few discrepancies in energy assignment to levels exist between these and earlier experiments. The angular distributions have been analysed with the DWBA analysis. A BBA analysis checks well with earlier results. Spectroscopic data have been obtained for many of the levels. A discussion of the nuclear structure of 24Na will follow in a second paper28).en_US
