The plasma streams, emerged from their interactions with large bodies, are studied using the collisionless Boltzmann equation and the Poisson equation. The ambient ionosphere is assumed bithermal namely Tc/Ti = [alpha], a constant. Numerical results are obtained with the ionospheres in thermal equilibrium ([alpha] = 1) and quasi-equilibrium ([alpha] = 10) for comparison. The velocity of the moving bodies is much larger than the thermal speed of the ions and much smaller than that of the electrons. Both cases, with and without the presence of a permanent magnetic field, are considered. The magnetic field is aligned with the motion of the bodies.en_US
