dc.description.abstract | A recalculation of the meson-baryon scattering lengths yielded a good agreement with experimental data and a qualitative agreement with a previous calculation of Von Hippel and Kim. The connected matrix element of the singlet member of the SU (3) [circle times operator] SU (3) scalar nonet (3,3*) + (3*,3) between baryon states [mu]0 was found to be 290 +/- 32 MeV and the pion-nucleon [sigma]-term 30 +/- 2 MeV. | en_US |
