Protein kinase activity was found in the acidic nuclear protein fraction extracted from rat liver nuclei. Four distinct kinase activities were separated by phosphocellulose and DEAE-Sephadex chromatography. Additional evidence for separate enzyme activities is based on differences in pH optimum, enzyme stability, and substrate specificity.en_US
