The primary objective of this paper was to develop a mathematical description for the food chain, Because of the interdependence of the elements in this food chain, continuous oscillations among the variables are possible. A set of three differential equations was obtained to describe the above system in a continuously fed stirred tank reactor. The differential equations obtained were examined to characterize the possible types of solutions. A limit, cycle solution was obtained for some values of the system parameters.en_US
