Ira Harris Center for the Study of Corporate Finance, we bring you the presentations and discussion sections of the panel that gathered to discuss "Mergers and Acquisitions: The Past, The Present, The Future." The panelists included investment bankers, takeover lawyers, corporate chiefs, and an SEC commissioner - ten of the most well-known and powerful names in the high-stakes world of corporate finance. Their individual statements and the discussions which followed took three absorbing hours before a fascinated audience of about 500 in Hale Auditorium. The new Center was founded by J. Ira Harris, BBA '59, who provided the initial endowment. A list of founder members and Corporate Affiliates of the Center appears on the back cover. The Center was founded to stimulate productive interaction between financial executives from industry and Wall Street and the faculty and students of the Michigan Business School. ; Introduction by J.
