A short investigation into the effects of induced temperature changes on a fresh water protozoan population.

Abstract
The original problem was as follows: ""Is there a reservoir of species which can exist at varying temperatures. Suppose the maximum summer temperature of a lake is 18C. If one takes sediment from this lake and places it in laboratory culture conditions at a temperature of 28C, what sort of protozoan population if any will develop. Are these organisms which develop in the lake during the course of the summer, or are they unique to the area.""Subjects
