The effects of impoundment on the water quality of the Maple River.
Nichols, Rosemary
1973
Abstract
An artificial reservoir on the Maple River effected negligible changes in downstream water quality seven years after reimpoundment on a former site. The shallow basin of the impoundment, swift currents of influent streams, and seepage from springs maintained the reservoir as a lotic environment. Marginal clarification and warming the surface waters were the only characteristics conforming to expected patterns of impoundment impact.Subjects
