Although the primary purpose of this project is to observe and describe the underground structures of Gaultheria procumbens, I believe that it is appropriate to first become acquainted with that portion of the plant which most individuals encounter. This would refer, of course, to those small, lustrous leaved plants with the aromatic wintergreen scent.en_US
