Lancaster Lake has been studied extensively, with a chorus of different assessments of the trophic status and overall descriptions of the lake as a result. ...Our data supports the conclusion that Lancaster Lake is a productive, dystrophic lake, with some characteristics of an early succession bog. We conclude, however, that it is not yet a bog lake, in contrast to the findings of Gates' study (1942).en_US
