A management plan for North Central Michigan College, Petoskey, Michigan, Natural Area.

Abstract

The North Central Michigan College (""NCMC"") campus is a 305 acre area college campus within the city limits of Petoskey. The subject of this project is the management of 175 undeveloped acres of this campus, the ""natural area."" This portion of NCMC's campus is a special resource because of its rich biological diversity and its close proximity to the college and to the city of Petoskey. The natural area was selected for the study because it possesses a wide variety of terrestrial and aquatic habitats, yet lacks a management plan and long-term vision. The goal of this document is to recommend a management plan which proposes a specific course of action, in accordance with the educational focus of NCMC.
