Although both M. hypopithys and M. uniflora have shared many similar physiological appearances and have an indirect parasitic relations with other photosynthetic plants, each species seems to prefer a different habitat. M. hypopithys seems to prefer to grow in a cooler, drier condition with humus soil. Whereas M. uniflora seems to prefer to grow in a warmer, more moist with nutrient-poor soil.en_US
