dc.description.abstract | An experimental procedure involving carbon developing techniques was used to examine the behavioral responses due to mucous trail encountering of Physella parkeri to P. parkeri and Campeloma decisum. It has been shown that: individuals of P. parkeri are capable of detecting mucous trails, they show a direction change when they encounter other P. parkeri and C. decisum mucous trails, and they do not display a predictable type of behavioral response upon encountering another mucous trail. The possible significance of these behaviors is discussed. | en_US |
