This project aimed to develop a mapped trail and educational pamphlet to direct cyclists away from restricted trails and promote minimal impact mountain biking. Through designing a map and environmental education pamphlet, we hope to motivate mountain bikers to use techniques that minimize impact, increase safety, and develop an awareness of the area. We also aim to develop mutual respect between mountain bikers and other wilderness users. Working together we developed a trail to reduce conflict and minimize impacts while providing mountain bikers stimulating and challenging recreational opportunities. We encountered some difficulties determining the placement of the posts, and the direction and length of the route. Some specific suggestions for future monitoring of the trail and evaluating of the educational program will help maintain the success of this project.en_US
