dc.description.abstractThe goal of this study was to explain the species diversity of different freshwater communities by examining various abiotic and biotic factors. Abiotic factors include the physical habitat as measured by current, temperature, food availability, shelter availability, and substratum composition. Biotic factors included the predation and competition between fish species. The overall productivity of each community was expected to be related to the growth rates and densities of the different fish species.en_US
