Dominance relationships as a function of badge size independent of size differences, territoriality, individual recognition were studied. Results indicated that badge size may not be the most important determinant of dominance, rather other unknown combinations of factors such as acclimatization to environment (cages) may play a larger role. Also studied were blood parasites in relation to badge size. All samples were free of parasites contrary to what would be assumed about communally existing birds.en_US
