dc.description.abstract Brachycentrus larvae from the Maple River in Emmet County, Michigan were studied under laboratory conditions. Five bowls of varying densities of larva were observed over a two hour period for the role of density in dispersal. A significant positive correlation between density and aggressive behavior was found, indicating that density does play a role in dispersal. Implications concerning the territoriality of the organism and interspecies competition are also discussed. en_US
