Abstract
The general purpose of this conservation plan is to protect the forest and wetland ecosystems of the Carp Creek Gorge/Reese's Swamp area. Our specific goals are as follows: 1. Maintain the hydrology of the watershed; prevent eutropiphication and pollution of the stream and wetland areas. 2. Conserve populations of all species in conservancy site, paying special attention to the health of rare communities. 3. Limit the effects of fragmentation and disturbance caused by human activity. 4. Maintain natural disturbance regimes: fire, wind-throw/storms, and beaver dams. 5. Educate local community members about the importance and fragility of the forest/watershed. 6. Allow sustainable, low-impact, recreational use of conservancy site.Subjects
