Hypericum perforatum, common St. John's-wort, Goatweed, or Klamath Weed, is a 'troublesome range weed' causing photosensitization in grazing animals; it has also long been known to herbalists as an anti-depressant and is now being heralded equally effective and safer than pharmaceutical preparations. Due to its potential healing capacities, as well as its harmful effects on livestock, a great deal of interest has arisen regarding the plant.en_US
