This study observed the bat activity for the first three hours after sunset at two different freshwater lakes. The bats at each lake were observed on separate nights using the Anabat II detector. Myotis lucifugus, Eptesicus fuscus, Lasiurus borealis, and Lasiurus cinereus were all observed at their expected times. However, contrary to previous observations of emergence times, Myotis septentrionalis was observed to come out later than most other species observed. We suggest that the M. septentrionalis may have been foraging within the forest earlier in the night and arrived at the lake shore later.en_US
