This study looked at the effects of physical properties of streams on the microhabitats of Potamogeton pectinatus L. with respect to stem density in the Maple River located in Chebogyan County, MI. Water velocity, temperature, canopy cover, and water nutrients were measured along four 100 meter reaches. Density increased with increasing temperature, but canopy cover, substrate, and velocity had no statistically significant effects on stem density. This study suggests that a more in-depth analysis needs to be done to elucidate relationships between these factors and microhabitats of Potamogeton pectinatus.en_US
