Abstract
1) There is a great amount of variation in shell shape amount A. alternata but not enough young animals were obtained to see if this is related to age. 2) These animals are very active during and after rains but the reason for this behavior has not been explored. 3) A. alternata does seem to orient toward relative humidities in at least the 85% range at room temperature. 4) These animals are most active between 1:00 am and 8:00 am even when kept in darkness.Subjects
