EDITOR'S INTRODUCTION | The Cultural Heritage Initiative for Community Outreach (CHICO) has adopted the Internet as a means to help people learn about subjects as diverse as murals in Los Angeles, mummies in Egypt and drumming in West Africa. Students at the University of Michigan's School of Information pitch in to create websites that allow museums, theater groups and archives to gain a wider audience. In this interview, C. Olivia Frost, associate dean of the School of Information, explains how her research on the ways information is organized and accessed has laid the groundwork for the CHICO program.en_US
