Building Islam in Detroit: An Interdisciplinary Study of Muslim Institutions and Collective Spaces The public and private spaces Muslims have built in Detroit, their mosques, homes, schools, and neighborhoods, are products of careful thought and negotiation. In this project students of Architecture, Anthropology, American Culture and Sociology examine how communal places and institutions have been made Muslim in Detroit, focusing on processes of building, inhabiting, and display. Team Members: Omar Baghdadi, Mucahit Bilici, Kate McClellan, Derek Roberts Advisors: Sally Howell, Andrew Shryock | en_US |
