dc.description.abstract | The 2003-2004 academic year will mark the 150th anniversary of engineering education at the University of Michigan. More precisely, the first classes in engineering met on January 20, 1854, and the first degree in engineering was given to a Michigan student in 1856. Throughout the ensuing years, the UM College of Engineering has provided leadership for engineering education, research, and practice for the nation and the world while contributing greatly to the progress of the University of Michigan. | en_US |
