The Department of Emergency Medicine has nationally recognized clinical expertise in trauma, chest pain, toxicology, brain injuries and pediatric emergency medicine. The Department is a full service Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma center staffed and equipped to deal with all urgent and emergency problems. It is a major access point to the services and facilities of the University of Michigan Health System and is a provider of emergency care 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. Faculty are board-certified physicians in Emergency Medicine and/or Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
