Final report for Project 06 of ME450, Fall 2009 semester.en_US
Treatment of sleep apnea most commonly consists of nightly use of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), delivered through a nasal mask. The individually-tailored positive pressure is transmitted to the throat, where it physically splints the upper airway open and allows normal breathing through the night. The aim of this project is to develop a more effective CPAP machine that is inexpensive, quiet, lightweight, and not dependent on an electrical outlet.en_US
