Final report and team photo for Project 07 of ME450, Fall 2009 semester.en_US
Thoracic surgeons and emergency physicians perform thoracotomies in order to access the thoracic (chest) cavity including the heart, lungs, thoracic aorta, and esophagus. The goal of this project is to design and build a simulator that mimics the way a normal and abnormal chest would function including a chest cavity, rib cage, beating heart, breathing lungs, esophagus, and pulsating veins and arteries so that clinicians can practice performing a thoracotomy.en_US
