A class of wave-_absorbing devices consisting of one or two thin oscillating flaps is considered from the standpoints of hydrodynamics, design requirements, and engineering economics. A three-dimensional linear hydrodynamic model of flap-type wave absorbers in finite depth water is developed, and the hydrodynamic coefficients necessary to evaluate power absorption and motions are evaluated numerically.en_US
