Description: Epitaph of Marcus Aurelius Ammianos, built into a wall, upside down, in upstairs of the "Abandoned Farmhouse". Mortared rubble wall around it is plastered; the inscription has been left exposed, though it has been partially whitewashed. The content (especially the specific dimensions of a grave plot) relates more directly to the tight confines of an urban cemetery, so the inscription may not have originated in this immediate area. Square sigmas and lunate omegas (RS Inscriptions 20):"[The sarcophagus?] and the platform on which it stands belong to Marcus Aurelius Ammianos [son of - -], son of Alexandros, son of Nikeros, member of the tribe (?) [- -]; in this funerary site, which lies untilled and [- -] with a length of seven feet, and a width [in the front?] of four feet; in this (sc. sarcophagus) no other person [shall be buried except for] Ammianos [who is already buried here?] and Aurelius Zotikos [and - -].
