Local Information: Field 2277, South necropolis, Wheat
Latitude: 37.42.01.444
Longitude: 28.43.25.806
Elevation: 515.301m
Dimensions: Chamber: W: 2.80m, D: approx. 5.50m, pres. H: 2.15
Description: Well-preserved chamber, cut into a hard compacted tan-brown earth, mostly cleared, collapsed to west; nothing visible above ground; due south of SW Gate. Entrance is through a deep pit at field level that breaks into the western wall of the tomb. If the pit represents a partial collapse of the room, it would have measured 2.80 m n-s by up to 5.50 m e-w. The preserved ceiling in the eastern area is slightly sloped and 2.20 m below field level. The tomb is cleared to 2.15 m from the ceiling to probably near original floor level. All the interior corners are slightly rounded. Four similar symmetrically arranged arched burial galleries (H: 0.40-0.57m, W: 0.6 m, D: 2.09-2.15m) extend into the walls of the eastern area at present floor level; two are to the east and one each to the north and south. No dromos is visible, though a large slab in the northwest field wall could be a ceiling block from a built dromos.
