dc.descriptionDescription: Ottoman cemetery covers almost all of field 1285. Five markers stand in situ, another headstone lies on ground; some areas near the standing tombstones show signs of recent digging, and human bones are visible in the burial area. One tombstone is of a more elaborate standard Ottoman type, a stele with turban; 2 others are roughly worked rectangular slabs. The area and surrounding field walls are full of large worked marble blocks including molded architectural blocks, a double column fragment and a fluted column fragment, and large roof tile fragments. The cemetery is on top of a roman tomb (B071) and a sarcophagus (D049) is nearby.en_US
