dc.descriptionDescription: Fluted sarcophagus and non-associated lid found near each other. ** Found in Ottoman cemetery area (D048), probably associated with nearby monumental tomb B071. Chest lies on top of a plain marble column fragment. ** Sarcophagus A. Chest preserves one-third to half its height, broken away irregularly around the top. All surfaces smoothly finished. ** The front of the sarcophagus chest has vertical fluting and a central tabula ansata with a molded frame and scrolling handles. Plain columns mark the front corners of the chest, and pilasters mark the back corners. The back is undecorated.en_US
