dc.description | Description: Three fountains in Seki village reuse ancient elements as water basins: two sarcophagi and one olive press crushing basin. ** Sarcophagus A: Fully preserved chest, rectangular notch cut into the upper front panel. Slightly sunk into ground. ** The front has a central inscribed tabula framed by two thick garlands supported by Nike figures on the corners and erotes in the center, tied with large bows resting on the supporting figures' heads. In the left lunette is a female bust with unfinished portrait features, wearing a chiton and himation wrapped around the shoulders and knotted below the breasts. In the right lunette is a male bust with unfinished portrait features, wearing a chiton and himation. The left short side has a single garland with a gorgoneion in the lunette; the right short side is not visible. Inside there are abakeion supports in the corners. Three lines of inscription are preserved in the tabula, as well as the name Tatia Artemis inscribed in the lunettes. | en_US |
